How You Can Help

SCC is focused on conservation, restoration, and management of important landscapes and wildlife habitats in the southeastern United States. As a growing, non-profit land trust, we work with a variety of public and private partners to acquire tracts for land and species conservation. In order to accomplish this work, we must rely on funding from outside sources.

Most of the operational costs for SCC’s previous and current projects have come from a variety of state and federal grants. However, SCC can, as an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization, accept donations from other public sources and from private individuals. Gifts from private companies and individuals are typically tax deductible, but please consult your tax advisor before giving.

Please consider donating to SCC if you support the types of land and species conservation projects that SCC undertakes.  We accept most categories of donations that are typically accepted by other land trusts, including gifts of cash, real estate, working equipment and vehicles, and securities, stocks, and bonds. If you have something of value that you would like to donate, please Contact Us to discuss your gift.

At the present time, SCC is in need of the following equipment to help us accomplish our land protection and land management missions:

  • A small to medium size tractor in running condition
  • A 5-foot, 6-foot, or 7-foot bush hog and other tractor implements in working condition
  • A compact or full size 4-wheel drive truck in running condition
  • Trailers of any size (bumper tow or gooseneck) in working condition
  • A car in running condition
